    Dear Editor,

I appreciate that you posted my letter, "A Naive Moron," on Wednesday, but I feel that you should accept your own mistake in editing. As a reader pointed out in Friday's letter to the editor entitled "Politician Mix-Up," Senator Stevens is not from Arkansas, he is from Alaska. I clearly put R-AK, it was your editors who changed it to R-Ark. Considering that my arguments were pointing out how foolish our current representatives are, it's embarrassing to have that kind of mistake associated with my letter.

As for the exact citation (which I earlier omitted in the interest of space), it was from a speech Senator Stevens made before the Senate Committee on Commerce on Wednesday, June 28, 2006. Any interested readers can find more information, including a link to a full recording of his speech, by searching for "Series of Tubes" on wikipedia.org. The full speech is even more entertaining and more tragic than the single sound bite I quoted.

I hope that concerned readers of the Daily Universe will join me on Tuesday in voting for candidates such as Pete Ashdown (running for US Senate from Utah) who actually understand the technology that is affecting our economy and society.
