Jacob was asking if I was planning on posting any updates, so this is the 30-second version of my life.

I'm wrapping up summer term - I took two classes and tried to work 20 hours a week. Working and schooling is hard, especially if one wishes to do anything else on the side (such as keep on top of web development or regular blog posting). I think I'll do fairly well on grades for the two classes. The CS course should be an easy A, and the ME course should be at least a B (an A or A- if I'm lucky). I got a solid A on the midterm, but didn't turn in a couple homework assignments so we'll see what the final grade comes out to be.

I actually have been doing various web development projects on the side out of the view of the front page of petiejoe.com. At byu40 dot jp-ix dot com (no link because I don't want to encourage spiders crawling that site), we have pictures from ward activities. At ashdown.jp-ix.com, I'll be posting any pictures I take while supporting Pete Ashdown on his campaign trail. Someday, I'll get around to putting a new picture site at jp-ix.com, but until then, I at least posted a couple updates recently at jpics.

The biggest time-sinc for the website has been responding to comments on my Federal Marriage Amendment article. It really does take a lot of time to write organized and researched responses to religious zealots. I must admit, though, that I rather enjoyed the attention in my sick sort of way. Maybe I'll write on a couple more controversial topics over the two week break from school.

I went on a date on Saturday. Will hooked me up with his wife's friend Paige. We went to dinner, followed by ice-skating, followed by Cold Stone. I had fun, and she asked me to call her again, so I'll give her a call tomorrow (today?) evening to set up a date for Friday. Remarkably, I also have a date on Thursday night. I crashed the dance lab last Wednesday, and after I danced with Erma she agreed to go on a date with me as long as it involved going dancing. We'll go ice skating (it really is a great first date) and then she seemed to think that there was open latin dancing at a club or restaurant somewhere that we can go to. Thursday should be fun, but it's Friday night that I'm really looking forward to.

Well, that's the reader's digest version of the last few weeks. I hope all my readers are doing well - be sure to leave a comment or send me an email to let me know how you're doing.

True to my word, I called Paige this evening. I mentioned to Steve that I called her and he opined that I should have waited for a week before calling her.

A week? A whole 7 days? Man, I must really suck at playing this game. Three days was long enough for me. I suppose I can understand waiting for a few days before calling, just so that I don't look totally desperate or something. But I had fun, she claimed to have fun - She even specifically asked me to call her. Why not go out once or twice more before school starts up again?

I guess we'll find out in a few short days if I'm coming on too agressive. I've witnessed my fair share of train-wrecks. I think I have just about reached a point where if the girl is going to be offended by receiving attention from me, then I simply can't prevent it.

Any thoughts? Is three days too short a time to wait to call for a second date? What would your ideal time be? Are there even any girls reading this?
