    Memtest86  echo $newRAM;

    Steve asked today what program I used to check my RAM a while back when I finally pinpointed why my computer was crashing all the time (faulty RAM). I could have sworn that I had posted the name of the program at the time, but I couldn't find it by searching my site. So hopefully, talking about memory errors and bad RAM and Memtest86 all on the same entry will leave a note for my future self to find this delightful program again. It doesn't fix any problems for you, but it sure is useful for finding out if you actually do have a problem with your RAM and, if applicable, which stick of RAM is the culprit. If you find that your PC is crashing for absolutely no reason, this definitely is worth a try. It takes a long time, but it works like a charm.
