|Reinstalling windows is always such a pain. First of all, I hate that at some point, I just have to stop looking for more documents and settings that I may or may not want to keep and just hit the button to reformat the drive. Before that, (zeroth of all) I have to prepare everything to be backed up. At least I just bought the new hard drive, so it was as easy as copying everything onto the new hard drive rather than burning multiple CDs. That was a *huge* pain in the butt when I had to do that.
Periodically, Windows should roll every single "required update" into one and let you download just that instead of having to download and install and restart your computer a thousand times. I also don't appreciate that the first start-up was about 25% faster than the last start-up, because of all the patches and so forth (especially SP2).
At any rate, I'm rather tired. I made a list of programs that need to be reinstalled ASAP, but I think that i'm going to wait until tomorrow. I at least have my computer to the point that if one of my roommates decides to get online, I'm not a complete sitting duck. I also think that I have pretty much all the software assembled, either a copy of the executable on my other drive, or the install disk on my computer table. Hopefully, by the end of the week, I'll be back in normal working condition.
Good night, all.
