    Cereal trap  echo $newRAM;

    I'm sure that mothers of small children are used to having to be careful when they walk down the cereal aisle, but I was not properly prepared, or strong enough for the upcoming trap. Usually I don't seem to have a problem with it. Perhaps because I usually buy other stuff at the same time. Perhaps because usually I only buy cereal when I see it in an ad. Perhaps I was just a little bit too hungry when I went shopping today. Whatever the reason, I fell for their trap.

    Did you ever notice that the cheap cereal is always furthest from the door? They want you to walk buy all the good cereal before you get to the ones you actually want to buy. The bright colors and yummy names entice the victims with promises of "cool new marshmallows" and "free toy in box." Of course, that's all at about waist level. The really good stuff is on top though. With home-grown names like "blueberry morning" and "banana nut crunch," how can you resist?

    I made it all the way to the Malt-O-Meal section without even wavering. They were on sale, but nothing special. Not enough of a sale that I'd buy it if I weren't desperate for my morning cereal. But I was desperate, so I picked up a bag. On my way out, I compared the bag I had in my hand to various other boxes. I was looking strictly at the price per ounce, because I really just wanted something to get me going in the morning, I didn't really care about the taste. But then I noticed that Honey Bunches of Oats was on sale for only a little bit more per ounce.

    Usually I don't even look at those cereals, because I know how much of a temptation they are. But once I made the realization that it wasn't *that* much more expensive than the Malt-O-Meal, the seed was planted, and I was hooked. After I picked up that box, I was out of control. Suddenly, I realized that the small box of Blueberry Morning was the same price as the big box of Honey Bunches of Oats. I love that stuff, I just had to have it.

    *sigh*. I spent about $11 on cereal this morning. I'll have to be more careful the next time...

    Okay, if you have to ask what these are for, then I'm not going to tell you. I'll be making an official announcement about the end of the month (hopefully). Right now, these are just doodles to keep me thinking about something sane while I'm dialing numbers all day. Nonetheless, I would like some input on what you like about the following two pictures. No sense in criticizing the artwork, I never claimed to be good at drawing. I'm interested in input on the design. Any final renderings will probably be done at school on Macromedia.
