About three months ago, I bought two tickets to Utah Symphony. Of course, knowing my track record the last week or so with getting dates to things, it was a challenge to finally get a girl to go with me. I ended up going with Ciera.
I went without knowing what the program was. They usually have a pretty good program, so it's definitely worth the $2 per ticket (with my honor's card). Took a look throught the evening's program and it turned out to be a big band night. Mom's gonna be jealous.
I didn't like some of the arrangements, because they tried to adapt them to include a symphony, but for the most part, it was really good. They did a couple numbers with just a big-band setup, which I appreciated very much. Glenn Miller, Fats Waller, Benny Goodman... what a treat. They had a singer for several of the tunes, and a few members of the BYU ballroom dance company showed us a little bit of swing.
I don't think that Ciera was necessarily too impressed. She said that she enjoyed it, but pointed out that she hasn't heard much Big Band. My condolences. I guess that I was getting into the show, because the elderly lady sitting next to me asked what instrument I played. After the show, she asked what orchestra I was in, and I kinda laughed and said that I wasn't currently playing much.
Definitely worth the time and money... if only I could've gotten one of the girl's I'm interested in to go with me. Ah well... their loss.

We just hacked in your system, but we just wanted him to know that he is awesome. Jo-Pete you are the man. Your persistence in chasing the opposite sex is astounding. You‘re my hero. Remember, however, some heroes are valiant in battles both war-torn bloody and wide my heroes are valiant in battles, but the battles are mostly inside. You can do it!
Sincerely,
Your Hackers
