Okay, due to popular demand (Eliza's nagging), I'm posting the pictures today. I will list all the pictures at the end of this post (in the extended entry), but you can also trot on over to JPics and see them in their own home. They are going to be rather low quality (considering the original quality), basically meant to be a preview of what I've got.

I'm still planning on making a better home for the background pictures, which is where I'm planning on specifically posting my favorite shots in most of their glory (right now, I've just got 1024 x 768, but I will eventually post options up to 2560 x 1920. If anybody has a monitor better than that, then I'll trade them). One each day, so that you can puzzle for a full 24 hours over why the heck Jo-Pete liked that shot.

Speaking of making an index for picturs posted today, I need to make an index for the archives pages... so easy to do, yet somehow I haven't gotten around to it. Give me time... and more readers.

I changed my mind. I will *not* be putting these into JPics. Two reasons... first of all, JPics really wasn't designed to handle 1000+ pictures posted in one day. I some poor unwitting soul were to look at the archive for that day, they would find themselves downloading that many thumbnails. Whoops.

Second, I haven't yet made a page to expedite the data entry. I simply don't want to take the time to make a new entry in the database for all 67 folders I just uploaded. So instead, I'm utilizing the original pictures script (with a few modifications) and I am putting a link to each of them as follows... It's much easier to copy and paste all the adresses down and change the last number this way.

A few notes before we begin... First of all, I know that there are a lot of really horrible shots. It's easier to just put them all up then to critically analyze all 1000+ pictures. Instead of focusing on the bad, let me know what ones are good that you want to see the full version of. Second, the pages are not sorted by topic. Instead, I just put 20 pictures in each page, and I put a very rough general description for each day.

It appears that I've got it all working. It is entirely likey (perhaps even probable) that there is a typo somewhere up in that mess of HTML... if so, just leave a comment and I'll get it fixed by the end of the day.

The picture pages that load do not look "pretty," but they're functional (including a comment field at the bottom). If you see anything you like, just holler out where it is on the page (a simple 14th picture down will work, you don't have to look up the name for it.)

Let me know if I'm crazy and you don't wanna bother going through all the trouble just to get your turtles. Keep in mind that this way, I packed the pictures you don't care to see into 5-6% of their original size. That's a heck of a lot more compact than zipping it up.
