A little bit of everything
added Sat July 30 2005 at 9:30 PM
A little bit of everything, a whole lot of nothing, completely random, nothing at all related except that it happened to happen in the last 12 hours.

I woke up at about 10. Not too shabby, but I was hoping to wake up closer to, oh, 2 in the afternoon. I stayed in bed for about an hour, not because I felt that I needed to as I have some mornings this past week, but because I could. I couldn't let this chance go without laying there, so I drifted in and out of very light sleep Eventually, I got bored, so I got out of bed.

I cleaned out my car a bit. I took it to Jiffy Lube, and they vacuum the carpet, but they have a very firm policy that they don't move *anything*, so if the floor is covered with clutter and mess, they don't vacuum hardly anything. Not that they always do such a great job, but it's better than nothing, and it's more than what I'm going to take the time to do myself, if for no other reason than because it'd be a huge pain to bring a vacuum down to my car.

I wasn't too impressed with this Jiffy Lube. It's on main street in East Hartford, across from the Coca-Cola plant. The place just seemed very run down, like nobody really cared about it. But the Taco Bell I went to was definitely much worse.

After I finished with the oil change (they actually did a pretty decent job of vacuuming, too), I decided to go to Taco Bell for breakfast/lunch. A 1/2 burrito especial would go a long way to filling me up, and on a whim, I decided to get a mexican pizza (I've always liked them, even without cheese). The poor girl at the register didn't have a clue what she was doing, though. She ended up putting into the computer that I wanted a regular burrito and a meximelt. By the time that I figured out why my total came so low, I really didn't feel like dealing with it, so I just took what they made me and left. I figured that it wasn't like I paid for anything more.

I should've raised more of an issue, because the burrito and meximelt they gave me were extremely pathetic. I had remembered that the meximelt was pretty empty (its selling point really is the *melt* part, which doesn't exist when orderred without cheese), so as I was eating what turned out to be my burrito, I thought that it was the meximelt. I was very disappointed to find that the other tortilla didn't have much more substance inside. So not only did I not get what I had asked to get, but what they did give me wasn't even worth the money. I think that between this experience and them taking 30 minutes to give me my food the last time I went there for lunch, I'm going to stear a clear path from this Taco Bell in the future.
