Memory Lane (part 2)

Is it ever possible to take only two steps down memory lane? There seems to be some kind of magnetic or gravitational pull toward the other end of that street. This mystical force multiplies when friends and/or family start adding feedback.

It's funny that I have two vivid memories of Bubba. Or at least vivid for me, considering I have a horrible memory. The first was the day he first came into class and the teacher introduced him, the second was his birthday party. Strange that even though he was my best friend, I remember him moving in more than anything else.

I think I can count on one hand the number of "best friends" I've had. Alexander Bonds (Bubba) in Maryland (second, and mabye first grade). You might count David Cardinas in Berlin (third grade). He's the only person I remember sleeping over with in Berlin. Was that the first time I slept at someone else's house without there being a slumber party? We stayed up late (probably 12 or 1 AM) and played video games. We started making soap carvings for his scouting stuff (we'd gone to his scout meeting earlier that evening), but ended up just cutting the soap into little pieces.

In fourth grade and fifth grade, I moved to Tuba City and I was the new nerdy kid that everybody liked to pick on. David Lafaele gave me a chance. Sometime in Junior High/Freshman year of high school, David Santana was probably my best friend, and then I moved to Flagstaff. I definitely haven't had a male best friend since that point. Amanda was the first girl I fell in love with, and she was also my best friend tenth and eleventh grade. For a while, Rachel was my best friend in my sophomore year of college. I don't think I actually currently have a best friend.
